Laurie brings a unique range of experience and training to her work as a coach. She earned her doctorate in history at Harvard, her master's in journalism at Columbia, and then went on to write two non-fiction books that combine her passion for narrative and her commitment to healing--both personal and collective. "Born Fi' Dead" (Henry Holt; 1995) is a first-person account of her ten-year journey through the underworld of Jamaica and its gangs; "Off-White" (Soho Press; 2005) is a memoir of her southern Jewish family and the African American woman who helped raise her. She says: My work as a writer keeps showing me how powerful storytelling is. It can help heal our deepest wounds, body and soul, and free us to be truthful with ourselves and with the world."

She's presently at work on a new book, "Love/Sick," forthcoming in 2010. It's a taboo-busting, ground-breaking narrative about illness and recovery: for the past thirteen years, Laurie has lived with Crohn's, a chronic, incurable auto-immune disease of the bowel. "Love/Sick" is the story of her healing: hard lessons she learned about the emotional and physical toll taken by her high-stress marriage; weathering her divorce; and her journey to healing through the complementary joys of wilderness and community in a very small Wyoming town.

The focus of her coaching commitment is to work with others who face health challenges. "This is no easy road," she says, "but if we have a partner, we can walk it with hope and strength."
Sue Maloney brings a remarkable background to her coaching practice. In addition to 10 years of professional experience as a financial analyst and wholesale mortgage representative, Sue has been an NCAA All-American tennis player no less than 4 times. She continues to play and compete in tennis, and until recently taught and coached at the college level as well. Sue is also the mother of two college-aged sons.

Sue’s focus in her coaching practice reflects all of these interests and experiences. With considerable recent experience in the many nuances of the college-application process, she is interested in college-bound coaching for parents and their high school aged children. She also works with clients on health, fitness, and weight management goals, women re-entering the work force, life after divorce, and internet dating skills.
